The hospital Integrated Community Rehabilitation Teams provide essential services to patients. These services include physiotherapy, advanced nurse practitioner, rehabilitation assistants and occupational therapy. By providing specialist vehicles to the hospital these services can be provided in much shorter time that would be so if these teams had to wait for NHS transport such as ambulances. By so doing the quality of care provided to patients is significantly increased.
The League of Friends provided two specialist wheelchair accessible vehicles to the hospital in 2012. These vehicles now need to be replaced and we are raising £80,000 funds to purchase two new electric vehicles from Brotherwood of Sherborne.
