The League of Friends of Westminster Memorial Hospital is a charity registered in England and Wales, Number 281489

We are currently reviewing and updating our policies, processes and procedures to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ) ”GDPR” and will update this Privacy Notice and our operations accordingly.

We may collect the following types of personal data about you, your partner and other members of your household.  This information is required for us to fulfil our contractual obligations to you as a Friend (Member).

  • Your name
  • Your postal address
  • Your telephone number/s
  • Your email address
  • Your membership history
  • Your type of membership
  • Your bank account details for your standing order (held on paper only)
  • Records of any donations you have given

We collect this information in the following situations:

  • When you complete our membership form
  • When you complete our Gift Aid form
  • When you complete a standing order form
  • When you complete our consultation
  • When you contact us

We will always act upon your wishes in respect of what type of communication you want to receive and how you want to receive them.  Currently, all we will send you is an annual Newsletter and information regarding other ways in which you can support us, unless you opt-out.

If you were an SoB! Volunteer and subsequently an Honorary Friend, you will also receive from The Friends, unless you opt-out, information from The Shaftesbury, Gillingham, SW Wiltshire and Somerset Community Services Reference Group (The Reference Group) until such time as the Reference Group is disbanded, at which point your all personal information will be deleted unless you have become a member of The Friends.  We will not share your personal information with The Reference Group.

There are some communications that we will send you regardless of your marketing preferences as these are for administrative purposes.  These are:

  • Correspondence relating to Standing Orders and Gift Aid
  • Membership, donor or legacy related mailings
  • Updating and amending your personal information

We do not pass on your information to any other third party for marketing purposes.
